Medicine

There is no honest universal ranking of Canadian pre-med schools.

Medical schools set different degree, course, testing, residency and non-academic requirements. Choose an undergraduate route where the student can do excellent work, then map every intended medical school explicitly.

The correction

“Has medicine” is not the same as “best undergraduate route to medicine.”

School-wide retention, graduation and employment outcomes can describe a university. They cannot tell a Grade 11 or 12 student where they will earn the strongest GPA, complete the right prerequisites or build a sustainable four-year plan.

Check before choosing: Required high-school courses, later program-entry rules and room for the medical-school prerequisites on the target list.

Why families consider it: Offers an explicitly health-oriented curriculum, but the undergraduate brand is not a medical-school guarantee.
Check before choosing: Program-specific prerequisites, supplementary work and the student's genuine interest in the curriculum beyond medicine.

Why families consider it: Lets a BC student build an academically sustainable degree while staying close to local research, service and support networks.

01Where can this student sustain excellent grades without choosing a degree they dislike?
02Which medical schools are actually in scope, and what does each require this cycle?
03Can the degree fit the required courses without creating an overloaded timetable?
04What research, service, employment and community commitments can the student pursue consistently?
